The pending projects include two manufacturing facilities, the EDCU said. Others are in steel processing, financial services and research and development. The projects would require 300,000 square feet in five locations and bring capital investment of $591 million, according to EDCU figures.
EDCU said it contacted more than 60 Utah companies during the recently completed third quarter of its 1997-98 fiscal year.
The EDCU Existing Business Department also completed a profile of Utah's biomedical industry.
The profile defines the industry, provides background material and discusses the current impact of the industry in the state, the EDCU said. Representatives from 45 companies were interviewed for the report.
