Vernon Arnold Finlayson died April 8, 1998 in Salt Lake City.

He was born June 13, 1912, in Logan, Utah, to Vernon A. Finlayson and Albertine Bertelson Finlayson. He married Kathryn Peterson in Ogden, Utah, April 8, 1942, ceremony was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He graduated from the University of Idaho and during World War II worked as an electrical engineer in the Navy Yard at Bremerton, Washington. He had 30 years of service as an electrical engineer with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Salt Lake City. He was a High Priest in the Valley View 11th Ward in Holladay. He loved music and played the organ for many years.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter: Dr. Keith N. Finlayson and wife, Barbara; Dr. Paul A. Finlayson and wife, Sylvia; and daughter, Kathryn Jean Finlayson, all of Salt Lake area. Also survived by sister, Ethel Weber of Seattle, Washington, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Cryptside services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 11, 1998 in the Wasatch Lawn Mausoleum (Garden of the Lilies). Family and friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive from l0:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
