Willard Leo Herzog passed away Friday, April 3, 1998, at McKay Dee Hospital, after a short illness.

He was born February 24, 1935, in Logan, Utah to Leo Jessey and Sarah Elnora Byington Herzog. His first marriage was to EloDean Olsen Herzog. He was later married to Kathie Barney Herzog.He graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University. He served in the Air Force from March 1952-March 1956. He was active in many sports including wrestling for Utah State University. He also loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was with his race horses. He held many church positions and was a 4H leader. He was a member of the Cache County Sherriff's Possie and the Beehive Chariot Club. Willard was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a supply supervisor until retiring in 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie Barney Herzog of Clinton, Utah; eight children, Wendie Herzog Carlisle (Kenneth), Parowan, UT; Leo Bert Herzog (Kelly), Hyrum, UT; RoseAn Herzog Payne, Young Ward, UT; Paul Boyd Herzog (Erin), Young Ward, UT; Douglas Andy Barney (Cristal), Logan, UT; Terisa Barney, Clinton, UT; and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Mr. Boyd Herzog (Cheryl), Mendon; Mr. Deloy Herzog (Ann), Newton; Mr. Dan Herzog (Valerie); Mrs. Coleen Nora Wildman (Lee), Logan; Mrs. Voyle Gladys Bassett (Lynn), Logan; Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Martin (Jack), Woods Cross.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Alan Jessie and David Willard Herzog. Also by a sister, Nada Rose Feller, and two brothers, Fred Ralph Herzog and Eddie Chauncey Herzog.

Willard was well liked and will be missed by all who loved him. We love you Dad!

Services will be at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, on Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at 12 noon. A viewing prior to the funeral on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. Burial in Logan Cemetery.
