Worshipers will return to the Holy Rosary Mission Church on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for Easter Mass.

The church burned two years ago on Good Friday and is being rebuilt. The pews are expected to arrive in time for the services. The landmark building, which would have been 100 years old this year, was thought to be the oldest brick church west of the Mississippi.

The mission was started in 1888, and the church was built in 1898. It is located near the burial site of Sioux leader Red Cloud.

Sister Tricia Cruise of the Holy Rosary Mission said the new church building would be dedicated later this year.
