A Texas official survived a small plane crash into a lake and held on to debris for 12 hours before she was rescued Friday. Her daughter and two other people remained missing.

The pilot reported instrument problems before it crashed Thursday night into Lake Ponchartrain. A Coast Guard spokesman said it was a miracle that Carmen Rivera-Worley, who is the attorney for Denton County, Texas, survived."She did an excellent job of saving herself. She really did a great job of treading water," said Lt. Nick Bartolotta.
