A Kearns man was arrested after a Sandy bank was robbed Thursday afternoon.

Police say the man entered a First Security Bank, 10625 S. 1300 East, about 12:30 p.m. and handed a note to a teller demanding money. The bank teller handed the man money, and the suspect then fled in a car, said Sandy Police Sgt. Kevin Thacker.Witnesses were able to give police a description of the man and part of his car's license number, Thacker said. The robbery was also videotaped on a surveillance camera.

In conjunction with the FBI, Sandy Police officers tracked the man to his Kearns home and arrested him later in the evening, Thacker said. The man, 20, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of robbery.
