Iomega Corp. Thursday announced the promotion of Scott Flaig from executive vice president of operations to chief operating officer.

The Roy-based manufacturer of computer data storage products said Flaig will continue to focus on enhancing Iomega's customer satisfaction and quality assurance organizations, as well as leading manufacturing and operations activities."This appointment is part of Iomega's ongoing effort to bring our customers what they want, when they want it, at a reasonable price by continually enhancing the high quality of Iomega's products and services, and the effectiveness of our operations," said James Sierk, Iomega president and chief executive officer.

Sierk took over those roles last week when Kim Edwards resigned as president and chief executive. Company officials said at the time that they would search for a successor who will focus more on quality and customer service.
