Charles LeRoy McDevitt passed away March 30, 1998 in Salt Lake City.

He was born August 18, 1915 in Salt Lake City to Charles Lincoln and Margaret Bullough McDevitt. He married Margaret Adamson on May 25, 1941 in Carey, Idaho.He spent four years in World War II as an officer in the Navy. Afterward, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with honors and a Masters degree in Business Administration. He was employed by United States Steel Corp. all his working life, starting in San to Portland, OR and later to Salt Lake City as Manager of Sales, Columbia Geneva Division. After retirement, he went to work as President of Allen Steel for two years. He was also a member of the Alta Club and the Salt Lake Country Club.

Survivors: wife, daughter, Marian McDevitt, both Salt Lake City; brother, Col. Vaughn Gallacher, San Antonio, TX.

Graveside services will be held, at his request, Thursday, April 2, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street, under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Assoc.
