One of the four Midvale homes damaged by storm runoff Saturday cannot be occupied for two to three weeks, Wasatch Constructors officials said Tuesday.

Wasatch, the I-15 reconstruction contractor, has arranged temporary housing for Karen Hamblin until she can return to the Adams Street home she rents. Residents of the other three houses are back in their homes.Hamblin was not home when storm water filled her basement, drowning her dog.

Midvale officials said the flooding occurred in part because a city drainage pipe was blocked by Wasatch when it widened I-15 at about 8400 South.

Wasatch spokesman Brian Mauldwin said it appears an engineering subcontractor supplied Wasatch with incorrect information on the location of drainage lines in that area, and the pipe was buried as a result.

Mauldwin said it has not been determined whether the subcontractor is at fault or if it was given incorrect information. He would not release the name of the engineering firm.

In the meantime, Wasatch has financed the cleanup.
