Long-time Tooele resident, Harold King Horrocks, 71, died March 30, 1998 at home of cancer.
He was born June 6, 1926 in Elberta, UT. He attended schools in Tooele. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Mediterranean as a radioman. Served an LDS Western States Mission, 1956-1958. Married Kaye Petersen on July 29,1960, Logan Temple. He was a good and faithful husband. Retired from Dugway in 1983, where he had been a fire fighter. Served faithfully and diligently as financial clerk in three stake presidencies and three bishoprics.He was known for his honesty, integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. He was well-known to the aviation community of Tooele. He held a private pilot's license and owned his own airplane for a time. At the time of his death, he was building a Mustang II (with the help of family and friends). Member of EAA. He was a decent and good man. He lived his life with dignity and without complaint, accepting disappointments with composure and understanding.
He will be deeply missed by his wife and family. Survived by brothers, Ray L. (Lillian), of West Valley; Donald Fay (Velia), of Kelso, Washington; a sister, June Erickson, of Tooele; many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Viewing: Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. Tate Mortuary. Funeral services Thursday April 2 at 1 p.m., Tooele Utah North Stake Center 583 No 270 East with viewing one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Tooele City Cemetery.
We are sorry that he died, and so very happy that he lived.
