Clifton Howard Ludwig, 92, passed away on March 27, 1998, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born March 31, 1905 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Tamer Maud Howard and Eugene Robert Charles Ludwig. He married Inez Jeppson on May 22, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. His father died in June 1930, one year after his marriage, and as the eldest son, much of the responsibility for the care of his mother and her family fell upon his shoulders. Dad graduated from high school in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. He was an insurance salesman most of his life and worked for both Hardware Mutual Insurance Company and Deseret Federal Savings and Loan Association. He owned and managed apartments in downtown Salt Lake. He was a past president of The Sons of Utah Pioneers and a long time member of the Kiwanis Club. Some activities that he particularly enjoyed were fishing, golf and swimming. An active member of the LDS Church, Dad served three full-time missions and filled many church callings.Dad is survived by his wife; four daughters, Inez Jean Brock of Piermont, New York; Joyce Canfield of Placerville, California; Mary Eva Anderson of Salt Lake City; and Lorraine Hargraves of Bountiful; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a sister, Blanche Ashton of Payette, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers, Leslie and Eugene.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 1998, 12 noon, on what would have been his 93rd birthday, at the Monument Park 11th Ward, 1565 Foothill Drive. Family and friends may call Monday, March 30th from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 1300 S. 2350 E., or Tuesday at the ward from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dad will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.
