Chinese dissident Wang Bing-zhang, suspected of traveling abroad on a doctored U.S. passport, has been arrested by U.S. federal agents in New York, the State Department said Friday.

Wang was arraigned in Brooklyn federal court Friday afternoon and released on a $75,000 personal recognizance bond, according to one of his New York defense lawyers Kevin Claffey."The gentleman was arrested last night, March 26, in New York by special agents of the Diplomatic Security Service," deputy spokesman James Foley told a briefing.
