Mayor Ken Carter's dream of seeing Mesquite become a destination city is close to becoming a reality.
"My dream is to have enough services in Mesquite so that residents will not have to leave town to get what they want," he said.Clark County has now approved the sale of marriage licenses in Mesquite. And county officials said driver's license tests will also become available in Mesquite in the middle of April.
Marriage licenses can now be obtained in Mesquite at the office of Judge Brent Walker's Justice Court, 51 E. 100 North.
Those wanting a license should contact court clerk Judy Biasi at 346-5298. The cost is $35.
Should a couple want to be married by Walker, that will cost an additional $35.
The option of obtaining a marriage license in Mesquite became available about a month ago.
