Salt Lake County residents can get rid of their household hazardous waste, such as paints, fuels, pesticides, chemicals, oils, antifreeze and batteries at various collection sites on the following days from 9 a.m. to noon:

- April 11, South Jordan Public Works Department, 10350 S. Beckstead Lane (1575 West)- April 25, Sandy City Public Works Department, 8775 S. 700 West

- May 2, Salt Lake City Public Utilities, 1530 S. West Temple

- May 16, West Jordan City Public Works Department, 8030 S. 4000 West

- June 6, Murray Public Works Department, 4646 S. 500 West

- Aug. 15, Sandy City Public Works Department, 8775 S. 700 West

- Aug. 29, Murray Public Works Department, 4646 S. 500 West

- Sept. 12, location to be announced

A permanent hazardous waste facility is located at 6030 W. 1300 South. It is open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 944-6697 for more information.
