Employees of Cache Mortgage Corp. have started a trust fund for the family of a co-worker that has had more than its share of misfortune lately.

Sherry and Byron "KC" Clow lost their home March 15 when an accidental fire ripped through the basement of their South Salt Lake townhouse, 469 E. 2250 South. That forced the Clows and their three children into a motel, where they've been ever since.Thursday night, the Clows' 13-year-old daughter, Tiffany, was killed when she stepped into the street while walking along 3900 South near 1000 West.

"They are just devastated," said Sherrie Anderson, who works at the mortgage company's Murray office with Sherry Clow.

Employees at all four of the company's branches set up a trust fund in Tiffany Clow's name at Mountain America Credit Union and are asking the public to help. The family had no renter's insurance and no life insurance policy for their daughter, Anderson said.

Employees have also decided to forfeit their leave time and donate it to Sherry Clow so she can spend some time with her family without sacrificing her own earnings, company personnel manager Sharon Gregrich said.

Sherry Clow has worked for the mortgage company for about seven years, Gregrich said.

"(Sherry) is just a wonderful person. She would do anything for anybody," Gregrich said. "She's always the first person to say `Can I help you?' to someone else."

Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Tiffany Clow trust fund can do so by going to any Mountain America Credit Union branch, Gregrich said. The company has offices in Sandy, Salt Lake City, Kearns, West Valley City, Park City and Centerville.
