Police say drugs were found in a car in which a teenager was shot to death and his uncle was wounded.
Officers said the shootings may have been the result of a drug rip-off.The drugs were found wrapped up with some garlic cloves hidden in the car that Lucatero Gerardo, 17, and Eduardo Gerardo, 36, drove from Ogden to an industrial section of Salt Lake City on the night they were shot last week, said police Lt. Harv Jackson.
The Gerardos had received a phone-page on the night of March 16, apparently from some potential drug customers, Jackson said.
However, the people they were supposed to meet apparently opened fire with a gun.
Eduardo Gerardo's condition has been upgraded to satisfactory, but police have not been able to interview him.
