The annual Rex E. Lee Memorial 5K Run, which donates all proceeds to Brigham Young University's Cancer Research Center, will begin Saturday at 9 a.m.

The run is open to anyone who wants to participate. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the J. Reuben Clark Law School, approximately 900 East and 1110 North. The $12 registration fee includes a T-shirt, refreshments and eligibility for prize drawings.Lee, former dean of BYU's Law School and BYU president, suffered from cancer before he died in 1996. His son, Michael, will give the starting signal for Saturday's race.

BYU's Cancer Research Center provides opportunities for not only faculty but also students to participate in research on topics ranging from drug development to cancer bio-chemistry, said director Daniel L. Simmons.
