Frank's Prudent Speculator portfolio achieved a 36.2 percent return in 1997, according to The Hulbert Financial Digest. Hulbert also has tracked the Frank portfolio at an annualized return of 26.1 percent over the past 10 years and 18.6 percent over a 15-year period. In January, Frank said he expected 1998 to be a strong year for equities and predicted that small capitalization stocks would outperform large caps this year.
