Melvin D. Buhler, 73, passed away Saturday, March 21, 1998 from lung cancer, at his home in West Sacramento, Calif.
He was born May 2, 1924 in Midvale, Utah, to Jesse Joseph and Iris Kunz Buhler.He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Ruby Ellen; daughter, Valene (Art) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lee; daughter, Melanie. Mel also leaves behind eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Hawkins and Marjean Jacobson; two brothers, Joe and Roscoe Buhler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, son, Vance Lee, and sister, Betty Yuhas.
Mel served in the 508th Parachute Infantry Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the West Sacramento Ward Chapel. Graveside services will be held at the Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South, Thursday, March 26, 1998, at 11 a.m., under the direction of Goff Mortuary.
Mel's family wish to thank all the hospice personnel for all their care and attention during this difficult time. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
