A kind and gentle man, Heber Lehi Hennefer, 83, passed away March 21, 1998 in Ogden, Utah.
He was born Jan 26, 1915 in Henefer, Utah, to Heber Charles and Jessie Dawson Hennefer. He married June Ellen Cox on May 8, 1943. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended school in Henefer and North Summit High School, where he excelled in track, especially high jump and broad jump where he gained two first place medals in state. He also did well in the 220 hurdles and the mile relay. He was a member of the Henefer 2nd ward and had been a home teacher. He had worked for Ideal Cement Co. and retired after 32 years from the Utah Department of Transportation.He was beloved by his family and is survived by his wife, June; two sons and one daughter, DeLayne (Myrna) Hennefer, Salt Lake City, Utah; Dennis (Brenda) Hennefer, Henefer; Nancy Ann (Lynn) Clark, Bullhead City, Arizona; eight beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Layla Daniel, Cody, Sadie, Sean, Chad and Lane. Also surviving are a brother, Orson (Edna) Hennefer, Ogden, Utah; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Henefer Ward Chapel with Bishop Scott Richins officiating. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Henefer Cemetery. Funeral directors, Walker Mortuary.
