Vice President Al Gore got a double dose of embarrassment when an office computer mistakenly sent seventy-something U.S. Sen. Daniel Moynihan a letter congratulating him on the birth of twins.

Moynihan, D-N.Y., hasn't been a new father in nearly 40 years, but he did turn 71 on March 16 - and someone in Gore's office apparently pushed the wrong button on a computer that is programmed to print birthday congratulations and other form letters. The letter, which was signed "Al," said in part, "Tipper joins me in sending our warmest congratulations and best wishes to you. We know that everyone close to you shares the excitement of the new additions to your family," the Daily News reported Sunday.
