1st overtime: Bryon Russell hits two 3-pointers - one to tie the game and a second to give the Jazz a one-point lead. Again, Houston makes one of two free throws to tie the game rather than give the Knicks the lead. John Starks misses a driving scoop shot at the buzzer.

2nd overtime: Stockton, Malone and Hornacek each score to give the Jazz a six-point lead. New York pulls to within three with 23 seconds left, but Hornacek and Malone sink four straight free throws to put the game away.

Who's hot: Adam Keefe went 8-for-10 from the field and 9-of-11 from the foul line for 25 points - his best scoring night ever in a Jazz uniform. He also pulled down seven boards.

Key to the game: The Jazz didn't panic after falling behind by 17 in the second quarter or when trailing by 11 with less than four minutes to play.

Records: Jazz 50-17; Knicks 37-31

Quotable: "We're starting to get there, but there's no doubt in my mind that our best games are ahead of us." Karl Malone
