Gladys Webster Checketts, 84, passed away on March 17, 1998 in San Diego.
Prior to 1996 she lived in Santa Barbara for 44 years where she was a Girl Scout and PTA leader and actively involved in the LDS church Primary organization. She passed her real estate exam on a self study basis. An avid golfer, she was especially proud of her hole-in-one trophy from the Montecito Country Club. Born in Gridley, Calif. July 21, 1913, Mrs. Checketts was raised in Utah and returned to California in 1933 when she married her late husband, Joseph.She is survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Lyle Rowe, of San Diego; their grandson, Gary, his wife and daughter,
Tamayo and Julia, of Los Angeles; and their granddaughter, Judy, of Pacific Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Santa Barbara Kiwanis Club or the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah on Monday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Friends and family are invited to visit at 10.
