A man who apparently became infatuated with former National Institutes of Health chief Dr. Bernadine Healy after seeing her on television was arrested for allegedly stalking her.

Harry Lee Zingher, 41, of Rushville, Ill., was in jail Friday on a charge of menacing by stalking, a misdemeanor. He was arrested Wednesday as he sat in his car parked on the campus of Ohio State University College of Medicine, where Healy is now dean of the medical school.Zingher was accused of telephoning Healy's office and mailing her letters with obscene messages, condoms and other items.

Healy, who served as NIH director under President Bush, is also a medical consultant and contributor for CBS News. In 1994, she ran unsuccessfully in Ohio for the Republican Senate nomination.
