The effect of the Civil War on women will be discussed at a Women's Research Institute Women's Studies Colloquium Lecture Thursday, March 26, at noon in 3208 Smith Family Living Center at Brigham Young University.
The lecture by Kathryn Daynes, BYU professor of history, is titled "Women in Union-Occupied Tennessee." The public is invited to attend the free event."The research looks at the patterns and impact the Civil War had on women over time, not just during the war," Daynes said.
Daynes's research has focused on how historical forces have affected women's lives.
