Jerry, 11, born Sept. 20, 1986, is a sports-oriented youngster with lots of energy. As a fifth-grader, he works at grade level in a regular classroom.
Although he gets along well with nearly everyone, he can be aggressive and sometimes dishonest. Jerry is impulsive and has a hard time focusing for long periods of time, so he takes medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and depression.Since summer 1996, he has been in five placements. He moved to a residential treatment center in January, where he receives therapy and supervision. His adoptive family will need to see that he continues with therapy to help him recover from his past experiences of abuse and neglect. He must be the only or youngest child in the family, with other siblings being male.
Financial assistance for medical care, therapy and adoption is available.
