Lenore Stevens Harker died March 19, 1998 in Bountiful, Utah.

Born May 31, 1912 in Holden, Utah to Marion R. and Martha Ashby Stevens. Married Benjamin Halvor (Hal) Harker on August 5, 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died September 5, 1974. She attended Millard High School, Fillmore, Utah; Utah State University, Logan, Utah; Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah; University of Southern California, Los Angeles; and University of Utah, Salt Lake City, where she earned a masters degree in Library Science. Taught schools in the Millard School District for 11 years. Active member of the LDS Church and taught in many of the auxiliary organizations. She filled a LDS Mission in Northern California and later was a Bonneville Stake Missionary in Salt Lake City. Served two years during World War II in the Womens Army Corps, Medical Detachment, working with the nurses in three Army hospitals in Massachusetts. Later she was a librarian at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City. Lenore enjoyed working with her husband in their yard and raised many beautiful flowers. Enjoyed playing the piano and organ and loved reading and listening to good music. Lenore had a very generous and giving spirit, loved people and had many friends.Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister, Freda Stevens Smyth, and brother, Oscar A. Stevens. Survived by three sisters: Afton S. Clark (DeVon, deceased), Marian S. Sodja (Ernest J.), Zina S. Holbrook (John L.), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 1998 in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Belmont Section). Family and friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive from 12 noon - 12:45 p.m. prior to graveside service.
