Members of the 117th Engineering Detachment of the Utah National Guard began work this week to grade and do other work to reshape the Hogle Zoo parking lot. When completed in the late spring, the parking lot will provide more parking spaces and will feature a tree-lined, terraced retaining wall bordering the main parking lot. A new handicap-accessible ramp to a nearby bus stop will also be constructed. The retaining wall will be capped with flowers and ground covering, and dozens of Japanese pagoda trees will be planted.
