Astronaut David Wolf had high praise for his fellow space travelers who patched things up aboard Russia's creaky Mir space station last fall.

Wolf, who spent four months on Mir, told Russian space controllers Wednesday in Moscow that he felt confident working with experienced cosmonauts Anatoly Solovyov and Pavel Vinogradov during that mission, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported.Mir had major malfunctions last summer, and Wolf's bosses at NASA deliberated until the last minute about whether to send him to the aging orbiter in September.

Wolf has insisted all along that he wasn't afraid to go on the mission.
