If Quincy Jones' musical taste is right - and multiple Grammy awards say it is - South African music may be the next big thing.
Jones announced a new Web site dedicated to bringing South Africa's music, history, news and culture to the Internet's millions of users worldwide. From the site, fans can learn about South African musicians and even buy the music. The site - www.Qradio.net - also offers 24-hour radio programming from the South African Broadcasting Corp., accessible with a click of the mouse.
"Far beyond diamonds and gold, South Africa's greatest hidden resource is its music," Jones said Wednesday. "It has long been my dream to bring the musical talent and culture of this nation to the rest of the world."
