WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS: BYU set a school record on bars and went over the 195 mark for the first time this season in a 195.05-192.7 win over Southern Utah Wednesday night in Cedar City.
Senior Angela Andersen continued her hot streak, winning the all-around title with a 39.325. Freshman Kelly Christensen was second with a 39.05. SUU's Tamara Turley (38.75) edged the Cougars' Natalie Emig (38.7) for third.
The Cougars' school-record 49.275 on bars, along with a 49.225 on floor and a 48.9 on vault helped offset a 47.65 on beam and lead the BYU to its highest score of the season.
Christensen won individual titles on vault (8.825) and bars (9.875). The Cougars swept the top four places on bars, with Denice Pauga tying Christensen's 9.875 and Andersen and Emig coming in at 9.85. Andersen won the beam title with a 9.85 and was second on floor with an identical mark of 9.85.
SUU's Dawn Kisselburgh was the winner on floor with the evening's only 9.9, tying a school record with the mark.
On a night honoring SUU's graduating seniors, Kisselburgh and Kimberly Nomura both turned in career-bests, with Kisselburgh's floor routine and Nomura's career-high-tying 9.825 on beam.
