Ray Ashdown, of Mesa, Arizona, died at the age of 76, on March 11, 1998 at Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

Ray was born in Bountiful Utah but has spent the last five years living in Mesa. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of The Red Mountain Vista View Ward, LDS Church. He worked as an electrician for the Scott Paper Co.He is survived by his wife, Ramona Ashdown of Mesa, AZ; four daughters, Cynthia Draper, of VA; Rebecca Albiston, of Utah; Jennifer Groenke, of Washington; and Gaynell Ashdown, of Mesa, AZ; four sisters, Bernice Webber, of Oregon; Evelyn Richards, of Idaho; Marjorie, of Washington; and Jeraldine Christenson, of Africa; one brother Donald Ashdown, of New Mexico; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held on Wednesday March 18, 1998 at 10 a.m. at Bunkers Desert View Chapel, 9702 E. Apache Trail, Mesa. Friends and family may visit from 9-10 a.m. before services. Military Graveside Honors will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 No. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
