Steven Russell Dean, age 46, passed away March 4, 1998 at his home in Dana Point, California from heart failure.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Aug. 6, 1952 to Norman and Bonnie Simpson Dean. During his school years he was active in scouting, road shows, drama and was awarded the Hope of America Award and selected for Boys State at Logan. Steve lived in Rose Park, graduated from West High School and the University of Utah. He left Salt Lake and joined an architectural firm in London. His work required him to travel the world.A member of the LDS Church. Steve choose to live in Monarch Beach by the ocean. Being outdoors was "his thing," running 10 miles a day, biking, walking and working in his yard. A very proud person and very brave in his fight against cancer.

Steve's neighbors and friends in Monarch Beach and his family in Salt Lake all loved him and will miss him.

Survived by his parents, Salt Lake City; sister, Diana (Rick) Coleman, Westminister, CO; brother, Jeff Dean, Salt Lake. Preceded in death by grandparents.

Steve's wish was to be cremated. He entered into rest March 13, 1998 in a memorial sea service. Final resting place at sea off the coast of Newport Beach, Calif.
