Clarence Edwin Rose, age 84, died on March 15, 1998 in Salt Lake City.

Born to Edwin Ellsworth Rose and Clorissa Pearl Hammer Rose, January 15, 1914 in Chehelis, Washington. He graduated from Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon, where he got a master's degree in economics. On August 16, 1941 he married Doris Goodrich of Philomath, Oregon. She died in 1995. Clarence worked for the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, Oregon until 1947 when he moved to Billings, Montana and began a long career with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Power Division. He helped build Grace Methodist Church in Billings and was a charter member. In 1959 he transferred to Salt Lake City. He retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in 1977. He was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, woodworking, and visiting scenic spots in the West. He had a gentle manner and his family was his number one concern.Survived by daughters, Marjorie Jenson and Alice Hall, Salt Lake City; son, Keith Rose, Cobb, California; sister, Loretta Olds, Harrisburg, Oregon; granddaughter, Kathryn Hall, Salt Lake City; sisters-in-law, Eunice Bellomy and Dorothy Rose. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde L. Rose.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 20, 1998 at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
