The Long Beach Ice Dogs scored twice in the third period, beginning with Lane Lambert's game-winner at 8:54, to take a 4-2 win over the Utah Grizzlies on Sunday.

A franchise-high crowd of 9,614 was on hand at the Long Beach Arena. The Grizzlies took the early lead with power play goals in the first period by Kip Miller and Dan Plante.Steven Finn kept the Ice Dogs close with a first-period goal, and Darryl Williams equalized with the only goal of the second. John Byce sent the insurance tally into an empty net with two seconds to play.

Mike Buzak took home his 15th win in goal after turning away 33 of 35 Utah shots.
