Eugene David Gentry, 77, died Thursday, March 12, 1998 at McKay-Dee Hospital of heart disease.

He was born on May 19, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arthur Farrus and Fairy Noble Davis Gentry. He married Edna Fay Holland in 1945, they later divorced. eugene married Jeanne dobbs in 1954, they divorced. On October 25, 1965, he joined the Air Force in September 1941, served as an aircraft mechanic for four and one half years. Majority of this time was spent in Calcutta, India. he worked for several airlines during his civilian lifetime and retired in 1982 from Hill Air Force Base. He was talented in many things and built his own home in Clinton, Utah.Gene will be remembered by his perseverance in the face of adversity, his quick wit and sense of humor.

Survived by his wife, Jennie; three sons, Eugene, Scott (Barbara) of Salt Lake City; Rick (Patti) of Waco, Texas; stepchildren, Lynn (Linda) Ostergaard of American Fork; Karie Moses, Vista, California; Kay Shafter and Darlene Ostergaard, Salt Lake City, Utah; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Larry) Vaughn of Salt Lake City, Utah; Afton (Vren) Bott of Santa Rosa, California. Preceded in death by parents, one brother, four sisters, one grandchild.

Funeral services at Clinton North Stake Center, 1800 North 1500 West at 11 a.m. Family will receive guests one hour prior to services. Friends may call Sunday, March 15, 1998 at Myers Mortuary of Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
