Police are still looking for leads in connection with a March 3 abduction attempt.
The man tried to force a 17-year-old girl into his car in Kearns, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputy Peggy Faulkner. The girl was walking near 4900 West on Niagara Way (5600 South) when the man asked her if she wanted a ride. She said no and the man became upset."He called her a couple of choice names and drove in circles around her," Faulkner said. "Then he got out of the car, twisted her arm and tried to force her in. She kicked and screamed and thinks she hit him in the groin. She was able to get away from him."
The girl ran and luckily was spotted by her boyfriend's mother just down the street. The girl saw the assailant speed away.
Investigators are looking for a white male, between 18 and 25 years old, Faulkner said. He weighs about 160 pounds and is about 6 feet tall. The man had short blonde hair and a light mustache, the girl told deputies.
He was driving a black late model Volkswagon Jetta with several stickers on the back bumper, including a University of Utah sticker. Anyone with information can call Det. Ben Forbes at 535-5282.
