An Internal Revenue Service examiner with an eye for the bottom line won a 5-cent refund from a domestic relations court in a child-support dispute.
The fight cost him about $40 in court fees.Lake County Magistrate Jeffrey Fram ordered 5 cents credited to the child-support account of Greg Zivoder, 48, of Mentor, to reflect a nickel error in court paperwork.
Late last year Zivoder became convinced he had been shortchanged by Lake County Domestic Relations Court in his divorce proceedings. He pays $1,056 a month in child support and alimony.
He filed 16 documents to substantiate various claims, but the magistrate only upheld the nickel dispute.
