#24 RON BOONE
College: Idaho State '68
Residence: Salt Lake City
Personal: Boone, who holds stock and is active in the operation of a custom neckware company, is Hot Rod Hundley's partner for Utah Jazz radio and television broadcasts. He is married (Jackie) with two children: Jozette (31) and JaRon (23).
Jazz years: 1979-81
Jazz stats: Appeared in 127 games and averaged 10.8 points.
Jazz memory: Boone got what he wanted on Oct. 25, 1979 - a trade from the Lakers to the relocated Jazz in Utah. "The way the crowd welcomed me back to this city (where he played for the ABA's Utah Stars) that first ball game was something special," he said. "I felt and still feel a part of this city. I loved it."
Boone's pro basketball roots in Utah extend back to the 1971 Stars championship team. His fondest memory, however, came as a broadcaster. "The reception the Jazz got at the airport after winning the Western Conference," Boone said of the 20,000 fans who greeted the team after its series-clinching win in Houston last year, "that was almost as electrifying as winning a championship."
