Our beloved friend, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth Henry Hickey, passed away March 13, 1998 after a courageous struggle with cancer. She will be sorely missed.
Born March 31, 1930 to Ray Rupert Henry and Lucile Neslen Henry, she was the only daughter of their four children. Ruth married John H. Hickey on Dec. 11, 1952 and they were sealed together for Eternity on June 7, 1957 in the L.A. Temple. Together they poured their hearts and souls into their 10 children. Most of her life she devoted to the raising of her children and the happiness of her family, but as with most stars that shine so brightly, the light that was her love shone forth in other areas as well. With her family mostly raised, she put her mind into nursing and the caregiving of others, and graduated with a degree in Nursing from Eastern Washington University. It gave her great joy and peace to share her knowledge with others. One of her most fulfilling experiences was that of a camp nurse and counselor for a church youth group. She is survived by her beloved husband, John; seven children, Craig, Wayne, Jill, Lori, Glenn, Kent, and Paul; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothers, Bob, Ed, and Dick Henry. She was preceded in death by three children, Janice, Michael, and Kathy.
Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
