Age: 46.Where born: Provo.

Family: Married with five children.

Education: BFA, Utah State University.

Primary products: Ideas for advertising and marketing.

Primary markets: Western United States.

Number of employees: 53.

Annual sales: $35 million.

First "real" job: Pulling weeds at the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club. The weeds won.

Management style: Put your right foot in - put your right foot out - put your right foot in and shake it all about. (In other words, don't take the whole thing too seriously.)

Strategy for success: Extraordinary success isn't born of the status quo. To have unusual success you must muster the courage to do the unusual. And the unusual is never found while walking a straight path. In my experience, success is a happy accident that springs almost magically from unexpected places. So my strategy for success is to wander off the beaten path and stumble around until I accidentally trip over it. This requires a lot of faith, a lot of patience and a lot of wandering.

A memorable failure: Failure doesn't exist except in one's own mind. Since I've lost my mind, failure is an impossibility.

Heroes: My wife - seriously.

Leisure time and hobbies: Huffing and puffing on a tennis court. Trying to navigate moguls without separating a shoulder. And drowning my troubles in a good movie.

Favorite book and movie: Book, "Marathon Man." Movie, any movie with Michelle Pfeiffer, any movie with the Star Ship Enterprise and any movie with English subtitles. (I'm still waiting for a French version of Star Trek starring Michelle Pfeiffer.)
