On the beautiful, sunny morning of March 8, 1998, Dorcas Eve May Longshaw Record, passed on into the loving arms of her husband. She was 100 years and 10 months old.
She was born on May 1, 1897 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia to Arthur and Eve Longshaw. She immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was 16 years old. She married Odes B. Record on July 18, 1917 in the Logan LDS Temple. The were married for 72 years when Odes passed away on October 4, 1988. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She and her husband served in the South Australia Mission from 1964 to 1966.They were the parents of five sons, Arthur J., Los Angeles; Odes L., David L., Sherman L., Salt Lake; and Joseph B., deceased. Her posterity includes 27 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchild and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Highland Cove and Highland Care Center for their devoted care, especially her aides, Sandy, Kathleen and Tracy.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at Imperial 2nd Ward, 1560 East Atkin Avenue (2840 So.). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Tuesday, March 10 from 6-8 p.m and at the Ward one hour prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
