Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Evelyn Welch Hobbs, age 90, passed away March 5, 1998, in Salt Lake City.
Mary was born April 3, 1907, in Ogden Utah, the daughter of George T. Welch and Mary Evaline Garner. She married Charles William Hobbs on April 27, 1926 in Burley, Idaho, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Charles Dean (Louise) Hobbs, Mapleton, Utah; Margaret Evelyn (Jack C.) Pugmire, Ogden, Utah; William J. (Margaret) Hobbs, Salt Lake City, Utah; 19 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian J. Kinder, Oregon; Rachel M. Woolsey, Lewiston, Idaho. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Hobbs, one son, George H. Hobbs, two grandchildren, two brothers, Elmer Welch, Charles Welch, and one sister, Martha.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 1998, at 12 noon, at the Olympus 6th Ward, 3070 East Nila Way (4100 South), with Bishop Earl C. Dallon officiating. Friends may call Sunday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
