Rex Allen Coon, our beloved Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend, age 59, passed away at Cottonwood Hospital on March 5, 1998 of heart failure.

He was born June 14, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd and Kathleen Coon. Grew up in Magna and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1956. Married his childhood sweetheart Sharleen Schwinn whom he loved and cherished for 41 years. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.He was a man of many talents and leaves a legacy of hard work. He was a master electrician by trade and mastered every task he undertook. He was a wonderful husband and a pillar of strength to his entire family. He was the bestest Grandpa in the whole wide world. He had a passion for life and was grateful for every second of the extra nine years he was given which he appreciated and returned ten-fold. He was a member of the LDS Church where he served as Ward-Clark and with the Young Men.

Survived by his wife, children: Shawna Lovato (Ron), Sandy; Steve Coon (Becky), Riverton; Connie McClellan (Brent), Riverton; and David Coon, Sandy; grandchildren, Aimee Macey (Matt), Mandee, Danielle, Justin, Jessica and Jace, Haylee and Chelsea (twins), Cassidy, Mallori and Rylie; Great-grandson, Daxton; Father, Floyd Coon (Julayne); Brother, Russell Coon (Pat); Sister, Kathy Holden (Steve); nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Mother, Kathleen Harmon Coon.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, March 9, 1998 in the Union 11th Ward, 1433 East Old Mission Road (7930 South). Family and friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. and at the ward on Monday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
