After three days out of federal prison on a medical furlough, Whitewater figure Susan McDougal appeared Friday before a state judge who set her trial date on embezzlement charges.

Superior Court Judge Steven Suzukawa said her trial would start on April 10 or within 30 days afterward.McDougal is charged with embezzling $150,000 from conductor Zubin Mehta and his wife while she worked as their bookkeeper from 1989 to 1992.

She has pleaded not guilty to one count of grand theft, one count of check forgery, three counts each of fraudulent use of credit cards and income tax evasion and two counts of making false financial statements.
