Daniel Joseph Pacheco passed away enjoying life to its fullest on a racquetball court on March 3, 1998.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.Born on April 26, 1928 to Theodore Joseph Pacheco and Mary B. Hoye in Crested Butte, Colorado. Married Norma C. Clark in 1953 with whom he had three children; later divorced. Married Dorothy M. Shirley in 1969 who had four children from her previous marriage. Dan enjoyed life and loved playing handball, golfing, traveling, doing thins for others. He was a former Golden Glove Boxer and was an overall lover of sports. Dan was the proud owner of A & Y Barber and Beauty Supplies. Worked for Kennecott Copper for 30 years and retired in 1986.
Survived by his wife of 28 years, Dorothy M. Pacheco; children, Teri Lee "Peeches" (Wayne) Cederholm, Dan (Kris) Pacheco, Dorothy (Gerry) Olofson, Zoe (Frank) Montgomery, Donna Shirley; daughter-in-law, Elaine Shirley; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted (Joan) Pacheco, John (Evelyn) Pacheco, Duane (Jean Ann) Pacheco; sisters, Betty Tomsich, Dorothy (Glen) Landon. Preceded in death by son, "Connie" Pacheco; and stepson, Ted Shirley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 1998, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, West Kearns. Friends may call 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, with a rosary service at 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. As per Dan's wishes, he will be cremated and taken home to Montana. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army.
