Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Adah Kirkham Smith, age 85, passed away March 3, 1998 in West Jordan, Utah.
Born September 3, 1912 in Lehi, Utah, daughter of Lott and Sarah Adelaide Wrigley Kirkham. Married Karl G. Smith, May 6, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 22, 1933. Active member of the LDS Church. She held many positions within the church and served in the California Los Angeles Mission from 1986-1987. Lived in Beaver, Utah for many years as well as Shelley, Idaho. She was a long time member and past captain of the of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Survived by her sons, Kay (Mardi) Smith, Rocklin, CA; Kirkham (Marilyn) Smith, Sacramento, CA; daughter, Kathryn Karleen (Claude) Stoker, West Jordan; borthers, Stanford (Joan) Kirkham, Rigby, ID; William (Jean) Kirkham, Bountiful; Donald R. (Deona) Kirkham, Shelly, ID; sister, Doris (Maurice) Johnson, Shelley, ID; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Douglas, Orla and Sherman Kirkham and great-grandson, Kyle Charles Shumate.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Shelley, Idaho where interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley. Friends may call Friday, 6:30-8 p.m. at McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South.
