Orem road crews use dirt to dam up oil that was spilling out of a rolled-over tanker near Mountain Way Drive and Center Thursday morning. The tanker, which careened down an I-15 offramp before smashing a car and turning over, is at right. "We're not quite sure whether the brakes failed or what," said Orem police Lt. Bob Conner. The tanker was exiting I-15 southbound at about 7:20 a.m., and as it came down toward Center, the tanker failed to negotiate a left turn and hit an eastbound vehicle. The two drivers sustained only minor injuries, Conner said. One was taken to Orem Community Hospital, and the other to Timpanogos Regional Hospital. Names and ages were unavailable. Oil was still leaking from the truck and Center was still closed two hours after the accident.
