Access to a new city business park here will be improved once the city revamps the road leading into it, officials say.

The road, 800 South, will bend a bit to cross the railroad tracks at a 90-degree angle, said city planner Andy Hall. The City Council recently approved a special improvement district made up of three properties south of the Payson City Business Park to pay for the work. The city developed the business park, then sold off parcels to developers. The west end of 800 South was considered too close to the tracks for the land to be used efficiently and the approach angle was unsafe. The city built the infrastructure in the business park, two buildings have been constructed and more are planned or nearing the ground breaking stage, Hall said.

The park is at 800 South west of I-15 and extends into the county at 4600 West on the west side.

Redbrook Development, one of the major players, is planning a commercial venture with a hotel, restaurant and convenience store. Manufacturing and industrial uses are designated within the park, Hall said.
