Luciano Pavarotti got a review that was music to his ears when the United Nations honored him as a messenger of peace.

"Definitely the best critique I received in my life," the tenor said Tuesday after U.N. Deputy Secretary General Louise Frechette stuck a "Messenger of Peace" pin on his lapel. "It makes me extremely proud to be able with my voice to do something for the peace."Pavarotti was cited for creating a "safer and more stable world" through his extraordinary musical career. He has given a concert for peace in Bosnia and soon will give another in Liberia.
